Departing Kikoti Camp & The Tarangire Nat’l Park
Ngorongoro FarmHouse
Departing Kikoti Camp, we headed toward Lake Manyara National Park for a one-night stay at the enchanting Ngorongoro FarmHouse. Nestled in the untamed rolling hills of the Ngorongoro Highlands, this retreat offers a rare blend of natural beauty and rich heritage, right in the heart of Africa’s iconic coffee plantation. We took a leisurely stroll through the expansive vegetable garden and coffee plantation. Walking through this agriturismo we felt like walking through a living storybook, perfect for memorable photos and quiet reflection. At Ngorongoro FarmHouse, sustainability is more than a promise—it’s a way of life. We savored homemade cuisine crafted from organic, fresh vegetables harvested year-round from the very land surrounding us.
18-Feb-2013 Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park offers a truly immersive wilderness experience, showcasing a stunning array of habitats ranging from its Rift Valley soda lake to dense woodlands and steep mountainsides. Renowned for its unique tree-climbing lions and vast herds of elephants—originally the reason the park was established—it provides visitors with unforgettable wildlife encounters. The lake’s shores attract many species of birds, including numerous waterfowl and migrants, creating a vibrant aviary spectacle. Large buffalo herds, cheetahs, giraffes, and impalas roam freely along the water’s edge and forested slopes. A safari here reveals diverse ecosystems such as groundwater forests, vachellia tortilis woodlands, and the natural hot springs known as Maji Moto. Visitors may also spot troops of hundreds of olive baboons alongside Sykes monkeys and short-eared galagos, while elusive residents like Cape clawless otters, Egyptian mongooses, hippos, and klipspringers add to the park’s rich tapestry of wildlife.
